BBC's Investigative Journalism
A wonderful example of BBC investigative journalism on BBC2 tonight (Monday, 1st March '10). It seems at least four out of every five murders is committed by a "sane" person! Unfortunately the BBC chose to concentrate its investigation on the minority killed by someone who may have had a mental health problem!!!!

First blog from AIM/Launchpad!
Sorry for being such a poor correspondent and welcome to the first blog from Newcastle and North Tyneside!
AIM and Launchpad have been busy planning our project and it is just about getting under way thanks to Alisdair, Jim, Jane and Ian. We have had wonderful encouragement and support from Philip Clark and Louise Palmer.

Tired Eyes
Hi again guys.
My last blog in early December was rather panicky and I never actually got to write about my project. I am happy to say January was a good month for me and I am feeling really optimistic.

Office Space!!!!
What was meant to be a weekly entry from is is turning suspiciously into something more like a monthly journal. Just noticed we had no comments on the last entry so we won't get too worried that you're hanging on our every word ;-)

One in Four Conference on Moday 1st February: Are you coming?
So, our conference is on Monday.
You can find all of the details here including details of the guest speaker I was hinting about it the last post…
Alistair Campbell! He’s a big supporter of Time to Change and has been doing a lot over the last year to change people’s ideas about mental health difficulty and the people who experience it.

High Peak Writers' radio play, The Last Laugh, written by members of High Peak Writers in 2003
This is my first ever blog and I'm sorry it has taken me a while to write this (since the indution 2 months ago) but we have been literally 'snowed under' in Derbyshire (2ft deep outside my flat and 65 schools closed) since early January. This means that most people in Buxton have not been insane enough to venture out of the house for some time. I've had icicles dangling from my gutters and at last now they have defrosted, which is more than could be said for my fridge which definitely needs 'doing'.

Time for Tea and Talk - an update for Open Up
Time for Tea and Talk has got off to a flying start with workshops delivered at Flybe, Devon and Cornwall Police, North Devon College and Torbay Hospital. We were delighted to have become fully booked really quickly and continue to be contacted by organisations who would like us to visit them. We have a begun a waiting list in the hope of keeping in contact with people and providing more workshops in the future.
